Hawke’s Bay

I recently popped up to Napier for the weekend and left there wondering how I have let the time between visits lapse to years! This is something that should only ever be measured in months, surely.

A slightly cloudy morning gave way to a warm afternoon, and by the time we got around to climbing Te Mata Peak (late afternoon/evening by the time we had paid visits to a couple of wineries!) we were glad for the slightly cooler evening air rather than the heat of the middle of the day. It also meant that we reached the top at the magical golden hour, which adds another layer of beauty to the already exceptional view. #nofilter needed at all!

A day and a half definitely wasn’t long enough for an excursion to this beautiful part of the country; I’m already thinking about when I can next manage to get up there again.
