When it is a wet weekend, going out for coffee is clearly the logical and best option for entertainment.
Thanks to the local knowledge of a flatmate (who has a car), I got to venture to the other side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and discover The Grounds of Alexandria – what a neat place! It has a real industrial meets rustic appearance and the food has a wholesome and freshly-picked feel. I imagine this place would be absolutely pumping on a fine day in the weekend, but the grey weather hadn’t put off a multitude of other rainy-day-activity-seekers who were out to find a decent brew and a tasty lunch. We didn’t want to join the queue to wait for a spot in the restaurant, but the beauty of it is there are plenty of other delicious looking treats – and coffee of course – to choose from as you wander through the expansive area.
Here are a few snaps I took on my iPhone to show a little of what it is like….
