I had spent about a week seeing snippets of happy news from back home of the Royal Tour throughout New Zealand and thinking it must have been such a fun atmosphere having them in the country. I also spent the week wishing, like many women around the globe, that I could own every outfit that Kate wore!

I knew the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were coming to Australia afterwards, and I even knew they were coming to Sydney, but it wasn’t until a few days before they arrived that I realised their itinerary included a visit to the beach on my front door step. I’m really not the biggest fan of crowds, but I thought that it would be silly to not brave the swarm of people and take the chance to feel a part of it all.
