The arrival of June

Another page turned over on my calendar.  With the end of May I add another year to my age, another job title to my CV and anticipate the departure of the unexpectedly mild weather of the last month.

It is Queen’s Birthday weekend and it has been wonderfully relaxed.  I wish weekends were always three days long!
Despite some particularly wild weather on Saturday I ventured out to take some photos for the lovely Rachael:

It was fun to have the camera out again, I wish I got to do this more often!

Other than that I have been making the most of having a few days off by having a good book in one hand and a cup of tea/coffee in the other. Such a treat. I recently finished reading Jane Eyre – which I thoroughly enjoyed. When I was half way through the book I found out that it is actually being made into a film which will be released later in the year. I will look forward to seeing that.  Here is the trailer:

I also finally finished reading Pride and Prejudice recently. I started reading it years ago but for some reason only got about two-thirds of the way through it. I picked it up again a few months ago and happily got the whole way through it. While I liked this book I would say that I liked Jane Eyre a little more because it had a mysterious element to it and I like this in a book because it makes it harder for me to put it down.  I have now resolved that I am going to read more of the classic titles. The next one, which I have just begun today, is Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier. In fact I think I am going to log off now and go and resume my reading….
